Canary Islands Spain: HiperDino introduces organic supermarkets

The distribution chain HiperDino has introduced a new type of supermarket, targeting customers concerned about healthy eating. EcoDino is a new kind of store that offers a wide range of gluten-free, lactose-free and fairtrade products.

The first store of this kind was opened in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and responds to the distributor's commitment to gradually promote the consumption of organic and healthy products in the Canary Islands; products which have progressively been gaining popularity among consumers in recent years. This will also facilitate the creation of a new sales channel between local organic suppliers and final consumers.

EcoDino will allow consumers at the very heart of Santa Cruz de Tenerife to have access to a wide selection of natural and wholesome quality products at competitive prices, since over 95% of the products have organic certifications.

Furthermore, 75% of the range is purchased from local suppliers and has the best selection of fresh produce and meat products, as well as a team of specialised professionals able to give answer to any customer queries.

To achieve the best quality, the fruit section is equipped with liquid vaporisers that eject steam at low temperatures and keep the fruit moisturised.

With an approximate investment of 450,000 Euro, a store with 323 square metres, an hour of free parking for customers spending over 20 Euro and a strategic location, HiperDino aims to maximise the satisfaction of customers that are demanding and care about the products they consume.
