M&S to launch retail websites in four more European countries

Marks & Spencer has announced plans to launch consumer websites in Germany, Spain, Austria and Belgium.
M&S will launch the sites with a localised offer for each of the countries. It plans to sell more than 15,000 lines of clothing and homeware. The sites will trade in Euros and offer the preferred local language, payment and delivery options.
The move follows plans announced in May 2012 for M&S to trade online in 10 international markets this financial year. The company has also launched websites in France and Ireland this year.
“This is us moving forward with our plan to transform M&S from traditional British retailer to a leading international, multi-channel retailer,” said CEO Marc Bolland. “M&S is a brand that’s synonymous with British quality, style and value and this move enables us to extend the reach of our brand to more new markets.”
