Amy’s Kitchen has gained foodservice listings for two of its Gluten Free products in Asda cafes, nationwide from the 28th April.
Two of the brands best selling gluten-free products – Chunky Tomato Soup and Gluten Free Rice Mac and Cheese – will be available for consumers to enjoy in 225 Asda Cafes across the country as part of their Gluten Free offering.
This comes as research by Coeliac UK recently revealed that the gluten-free pound is estimated to be worth £100million each year.
The research also revealed that 60% of consumers would eat out more often if they were sure that gluten-free options were available.
Over 50% in the survey also stated that they would eat out once a week or more if gluten free options were available and 48% would be prepared to travel for over 45 minutes for gluten-free options when dining out.
Gary Mesiano, UK Sales Controller for Amy’s Kitchen, said:
“We are delighted to be working with Asda Café on this exciting new partnership.
“The foodservice industry has been slower on the uptake with free-from, and it’s great that Asda is leading the way with free-from offerings in this sector.’’
Maria Allen, Category Planning Manager – Asda Café, said: “We are very excited to be the first supermarket café to launch a gluten free range and be able to cater for a whole new set of customers”
“There is an increasing awareness of free-from in foodservice, with data showing that in the last three years, there has been a 30% increase in outlets offering gluten free options.
“This awareness and availability will almost certainly grow with the new allergy declaration requirements coming into force at the end of the year.”
