Transparency Data has launched a monitoring and analysis service that it claims will make it easier for big retail and catering groups to track and improve their food hygiene ratings.
The Scores on the Doors database updates daily with the food safety scores awarded by local councils.
It creates a portfolio of the stores a retailer wants to monitor, and also shows how they compare with competitors. It can also predict when the next food safety inspection will take place.
Transparency Data receives two million searches a month. “This initiative is already a hit with the public - improved standards are good for business,” said director Paul Hiscoe.
