More than a quarter of UK commuters would be interested in doing their supermarket shop via interactive posters or ‘shopping walls’ at train stations or the underground, according to a WorldPay survey.
The survey of 2,159 shoppers revealed 27% would like to have the option to shop this way and have goods delivered to their door later on.
The findings follow Tesco’s successful launch of a virtual shopping wall in underground stations in South Korea in June 2011 and the trialled a similar service for six weeks at Gatwick Airport last year. Asda also recently offered overground commuters in Reading the chance to order online and pick up from a parked van.
