Sanya supermarket looks more like an urban garden oasis than a supermarket as it puts the grocery space underground
To see the future of supermarket design, check out China’s Sanya supermarket.
The supermarket retail space is underground, while street level features small shops and lush gardens and terraces.
The supermarket is set to open in 2014.
Sanya Supermarket
Dutch firm NL Architects has created a supermarket design slated for Sanya Lake Park in China. The supermarket will be 22,000 square feet and built underground. It will be part of a big resort in Sanya. The southern city is a popular tourist area because of its tropical climate.
