Premium peppers for UK market

It happened to salt. Now a pepper supplier is trying to encourage consumers to try more premium pepper varieties.

Peppermongers currently offers a range of four different peppers sourced from around the world - Tellicherry Black Pepper, Indonesian Long Pepper, Javanese Cubeb Pepper and Sichuan Flower Pepper - in resealable pouches (rsp: £3.95).

The business was founded last year by school friends Tom Alcott and Pete Gibbons, who had grown tired of the “bland and poor quality” nature of everyday pepper in the UK.

Peppermongers is listed with more than 70 independents, as well as Harvey Nichols nationwide and several distributors.
